| HOW WE SERVE |
The services of Wadsworth FISH are provided only to Wadsworth (Ohio) and Wadsworth
Township residents. In 2006, Wadsworth FISH helped our clients in emergency and short-term
financial distress with monies for the following services,including, but not limited to:
Rent Prescriptions Car Insurance (one-time assistance)
Food Gasoline Miscellaneous small car repairs
Utility Bill Telephone Bill Referrals to other Medina/Summit County
Heating Bill Doctor Visits agencies
Angel Food Ministries Host Site/Drop Zone
Marian's Closet
Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University
There are no income qualifications for assistance. Checks are sent directly to the providers of
the client requests (i.e., landlord, grocery store, utility company, etc.). All financial assistance is
conducted by voice mail (donated by our local City Hall). All calls are monitored by the Executive
Director (and volunteers) and are returned the same or next business day. We have no office
location and all persons associated with FISH are volunteers.
We are proud to work with many other agencies and organizations in the Wadsworth,
Barberton, Akron, Medina, and Cuyahoga Falls areas to which we are able to direct our clients
in meeting such other needs as obtaining clothing, appliances, additional funds for emergency
needs, food banks, minor repairs, and so on. If we cannot assist you directly with your need,
we can direct you to another agency or organization that will work with you further.
In 2005, Wadsworth FISH was proud to assist over 1050 clients comprising approximately 650
households. In so doing, we disbursed over $92,000. Wadsworth FISH is an all-volunteer
organization. We have no paid staff and no overhead, so that 100% of our income is disbursed
to meet our clients' financial needs.
